Description
One of the major innovators and creators of the West Coast Jazz Sound and early Be Bop was Flugelhorn player and composer, Jack Millman. His Hollywood Studio All Stars was the first jazz supergroup and contained almost every top name major west coast jazz musician.
This recording is from 1968 and sounds amazingly terrific today. Millman started playing professionally when he was only 14, he played trumpet and flugelhorn in major big bands like Kenton and Hampton. His own bands help launch the careers or Maynard Ferguson, Shelley Manne, Red Norvo, Chet Baker and many more.
This album is a MUST have for all jazz fans.
