In the early 1960’s Jan Berry & Dean Torrance were the pioneers surf music. Their early hits included “Surf City” (written by Berry and Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys), “Drag City”, “The Little Old Lady from Pasadena”, and “Dead Man’s Curve”.
They influenced the Beach Boys but they didn’t do much touring because Berry was busy studying to be a doctor. Their plans ended in 1966, when Berry’s Corvette crashed into a parked truck in Beverly Hills that left him brain damaged.
This was the first time Jan & Dean performed live long after Jan Berry’s terrible accident. This show includes friends Glenn Campbell, Richard Hatch, Bruce Davidson and Papa Doo Run Run.
This is “Jan & Dean’s California Special”.
