Tina Turner (Anna Mae Bullock) has been called the “Queen Of Rock & Roll” but her roots are in r&b music. She is an accomplished singer, songwriter, dancer, actress, and author. Turner relinquished her American citizenship after obtaining Swiss citizenship in 2013.
She began her career in 1958 with Ike Turner as “Little Ann and she soon became one of Ike’s Ikettes and a featured singer named Tina Turner. In 1960 Ike & Tina had a string of hits credited and the Ike And Tina Revue. Their early hits included “A Fool in Love”, “River Deep – Mountain High”, and “Proud Mary”. A successful solo career followed then she faded from the spotlight only to have a major comeback in the1980’s with “Private Dancer”.
Tina had done it all but the one thing that evaded her was a country music album. Here it is, a wonderful country music album from the one and only Tina Turner- “Tina Goes Country”.
