James Cotton was a blues harmonica player who worked with Muddy Waters and Howlin’ Wolf. He played on dozens of recordings by Waters including “Got My Mojo Working” and “Rock Me.”
He formed the James Cotton Blues Band and they made records of their own and toured with popular rock acts like Janis Joplin and Cream. Cotton’s unique style of cupping his harmonica to a microphone influenced almost all blues harmonica players and the work of several major blues-rock groups, including the Allman Brothers, the Paul Butterfield Blues Band and The Electric Flag.
This is the James Cotton Blues Band – “Dealing With The Devil”.
