This album was recorded in 1959 featuring the Jo Jones Trio consisting of Papa Jo Jones (ex-Count Basie drummer) , backed by brothers Ray Bryant on piano and Tommy Bryant on bass.
Papa Jo’s brush technique is showcased here and not drowned out by a horn section. This is a pure Jazz trio without embellishments.
