Country music star Mickey Gilley is the cousin of rockabilly legend Jerry Lee Lewis.
Gilley’s first album, “Down the Line” produced a minor hit, “Now I Can Live Again”. Three years later, he opened his Gilley’s Club in Pasadena, Texas. The club was known as the “world’s biggest honky tonk,” and became famous when it was the setting for the film Urban Cowboy. In the 80’s he changed his sound and went with a more pop sound. In total Mickey Gilley has had more than 17 number 1 hits.
