Description
Del Shannon was among the few early rock and rollers who wrote his own material, played guitar and sang. Shannon had a solid run of hits during the first half of the Sixties, including the classic “Runaway”. He followed “Runaway” with “Hats Off to Larry,” “So Long Baby,“ “Hey! Little Girl,” and “Little Town Flirt.”
His last CD release was Rock On! produced by Mike Campbell and Jeff Lynne and released posthumously opening with Walk Away, written by Shannon, Lynne, and Petty.
The finale track was Del`s own Let`s Dance, a rollicking country flavored rocker featuring a fiddle solo. The musicians were basically the same as those who played on Petty`s Full Moon Fever.
