Description
“Lightnin’” Hopkins was one of the founding fathers of the blues. He was a singer, songwriter, guitarist, and pianist.
His appreciation for the blues started when he was just 8 and met Blind Lemon Jefferson in church.
Hopkins recorded for several labels through the years and more than a thousand songs. In the 1950’s her recorded “T-Model Blues” and “Tim Moore’s Farm” for Aladdin Records and finally received the recognition he deserved. His output of recordings continued as did his following.
As years went by he performed at festivals and venues all across America including at Carnegie Hall.
