This is Chicago Blues at it’s best. Little Walter Jacobs & Otis Rush together is truly the Blues Dream Team.
Little Walter was an amazing singer/songwriter whose completely different style of playing the harmonica made him a blues harmonica legend. He influenced everyone from Charlie Parker to Jimi Hendrix and he was inducted into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2008 in the category Sideman, the only artist to be inducted specifically as a harmonica player.
Otis Rush was a major blues singer and guitarist. He bent notes and had that slow burning distinctive sound. Many critics referred to his sound as “West Side Chicago Blues”. Aside from his strong powerful voice, it is important to note that he was a ‘lefty’ and played a left-handed guitar but strung upside down providing him with a truly unique sound. Rush was a major influence to guitarist Mike Bloomfield, Eric Clapton and many more.
A recording of Little Walter Jacobs & Otis Rush together is a must for all blues fans!
