Disco Queen, Carol Douglas from Brooklyn New York, is the daughter of Minnie Newsome, a jazz performer who is said to be the inspiration for the Cab Calloway classic “Minnie the Moocher”. Music legend, Sam Cooke was her cousin.
Douglas had a big hit in 1974 with her hit single, “Doctor’s Orders”.
