Description
Guitarist Mike Bloomfield was a member of the Paul Butterfield Blues Band and then formed the Electric Flag because he wanted a blues-rock-soul group and he decided that his new band would also have horns and would play an assortment of all types of American music he loved.
One of the great moments in the history of the Blues is when Big Joe Turner asked Mike Bloomfield if he would back him for his shows at the Old Waldorf in San Francisco. We have that show recorded and available here with Bloomfield and his band (keyboardist Barry Goldberg and drummer Buddy Miles, vocalist Nick Gravenites, bassist Harvey Brooks and an assortment of horn players) backing Turner.
