The Chambers Brothers recording of their best known, 1968 hit, “Time Has Come Today” is one of those songs that set the tone of the decade.
The Chambers Brothers were George, Lester, Willie and Joe with Brian Keenan on drums. They played at the popular coffee houses and small venues in Los Angeles until Pete Seeger arranged for them to perform at the 1965 Newport Folk Festival. They were a big hit and the rest is history.
